Alexis Hocevar
Board President
Alexis is a resident of Madisonville and currently a partner at Accurate Title Solutions. In 2016, he retired from Enterprise Rent-a-Car, where he was vice president and general manager over 76 locations, more than 1,000 employees and 15,000 vehicles. Alexis was also on the board of United Way.

Steven Marcus
Vice President
Steven Marcus is a resident and business owner in the Town of Madisonville. He owns Lighthouse Insurance Agency, a Madisonville, Louisiana based business, specializing in property and casualty insurance. Steven is a long time resident of Madisonville and has a love for all things marine. He is always the first to step in and lend a helping hand in his community.

Michael Gagliardi
Treasurer
Michael has worked successfully at a number of Fortune 500 companies, such as Kelloggs, Sysco Food Service, Citi, and Smith Barney. His career includes consistently increasing revenues and productivity, as well as training and development, to help others achieve success in their fields. His experience has lead him to other business opportunities such as general manager and quality control manager for a number of successful companies.
Michael and his wife, Cheryl, relocated to Mandeville 5 years ago from Syracuse, NY and Ontario, Canada.

Tom Meehan
Secretary
Tom and his wife, Mary, have been affiliated with Maritime Museum of Louisiana since 2003 in a variety of volunteer capacities. They have resided in Mandeville, LA for the past 23 years. Tom holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. In addition, he has a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans and currently works as an Associate Polymers Application Development and Technical Service Representative for the Eastman Chemical Company.

John Gniady
Past President
John is a native of New Orleans. He graduated from Loyola School of Law. John served on the boards of Slidell Memorial Hospital and the Southeast Louisiana Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He has served on Maritime Museum Louisiana’s board for twelve years as a board member and past president.

Michaelyn Broussard
Executive Committee
Dr. Michaelyn Broussard is an instructor at Southeastern Louisiana University in the Department of Biological Sciences. She teaches freshman biology courses for majors and non-majors. Her background includes wetland ecology, environmental science and science education. She believes strongly in community connections and involvement, making her an active board member at the museum where she has served for several years.

Barney Knoess
Executive Committee
Barney began volunteering in the Museum's Gift Shop in 2006 which is where you will find him every Wednesday. He became a board member in 2013 and has held the positions of Vice President, Treasurer and currently serves on the Executive Committee. Barney is retired from Freeport-McMoRan and has lived in Marina Beau Chene since 1984. He is married to a wonderful lady and has two sons, a daughter, a step daughter and four grandchildren.

Danny Schaus

Danny lives in Mandeville with his wife, Vicki. He has four children and seven grandchildren. His career includes being a regional manager for Cleco and Director of Government Affairs for 32 years. Danny has acted as a board member in several organizations including being a past chairman/board member of the Greater Slidell Chamber of Commerce, St. Tammany Tourist Commission chairman/board member, St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation chairman/board member, GNO Inc. board member, and St. Tammany West Chamber board member.

John Bell
John has been a museum member since 2000. He became a board member in 2009 and served as treasurer for several years. John and his wife, Carol, have dedicated many years to helping out the museum. He previously worked for IBM for 20 years and Whitney Bank since relocating to Louisiana. John has four adult children living in Canada along with two grandsons.

Gwen Bolotte
Gwen is a long-term member of the MML, having served as a volunteer for many years. As a CPA, she brings over 30 years of experience in Finance, budget preparation and management in both the government and not-for-profit areas. She has a passion for our lighthouse restoration project and has served in leadership of numerous non-profit boards.

Lora Haddox
Private Events Coordinator
Lora graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She practiced as an RN BSN for 30 years. Her career included Director of Nursing and Nursing Instructor at Delta College and Northshore Technical College. Lora is very active in our local community. Currently, she is president of the Madisonville Garden club, a board member for 12 years for the Maritime Museum and works part time as the Private Events Coordinator.

Hooper Harris
Hooper is President of HH Risk Control and is a long-time sailor, pilot, and energy industry safety professional. He had a 25- year career with the FAA. He values Louisiana’s relationship with water both as a recreational and commercial resource. He has been a long-time participant in the Wooden Boat Festival presenting his boat over the years.

Louise Lovich
Louise has lived in Madisonville for 22 years. She is a Visitor Services Specialist at the St. Tammany Tourist Commission and has worked there for ten years. She is a member of the Maritime Museum, recently selected to be on the Board of Directors. She is also secretary of the Madisonville Chamber of Commerce, a member of Friends of the Cemetery, and Friends of the Library. Louise has been involved in planning the annual Merry Madisonville event as well as the Madisonville Old Fashioned Fourth of July event.

Daniel Munn
Daniel is a Northshore based Realtor and a Social Media Influencer. He sees a tremendous opportunity to leverage the different social media platforms to increase the MML awareness and accomplishments across not only the region, but to the further regions in the state. He has produced several videos and can be seen hosting community events from time to time.

Joel Whitehead
Rear Admiral Joel Whitehead is President of J. Whitehead & Associates, Inc., a veteran-owned maritime consulting firm in metro New Orleans, LA. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 38 years retiring as a Rear Admiral. In his final tour of duty, he served as Commander of the Eighth Coast Guard District in New Orleans. He is also the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the International Propeller Club based in Fairfax, Virginia. It is an international business network dedicated to the promotion of the maritime industry, commerce, and global trade.
